This page explains what information AgeFile may collect, why it is used, and the choices available to visitors.

Who is responsible for your information?

AgeFile is operated by Ian Walker in the United Kingdom. For data-protection questions or requests, contact hello@agefile.com .

Information we may collect

AgeFile currently collects very little information directly from visitors.

If you contact AgeFile by email, we may receive your name, email address, the contents of your message and any other information you choose to provide.

Technical service providers may also process limited information generated when the website is accessed, such as IP address, browser information, request timing and security or diagnostic data. This information may be needed to deliver, protect and maintain the website.

Remembering your selected age

AgeFile uses your browser’s local storage to remember the age you selected on the website. This allows the same age to be shown when you return or refresh the page.

This preference is stored on your device. The age selector does not ask for a child’s name, date of birth or other identifying information, and the selected age is not submitted to AgeFile by that feature.

You can remove the saved preference by clearing the site data or local storage for AgeFile in your browser.

Cookies and similar technologies

AgeFile does not currently use advertising cookies or non-essential analytics cookies.

The local-storage preference described above supports the age-selection feature. It is not used to build an advertising profile or track visitors across unrelated websites.

AgeFile may introduce analytics or affiliate technology as the service develops. This page and any consent controls will be updated before non-essential tracking technology is introduced.

How we use personal information

Information may be used to:

Legal bases

Depending on the circumstances, AgeFile may process personal information because it is necessary for our legitimate interests in operating the website and responding to enquiries, because it is required to comply with a legal obligation, or because you have given consent.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Service providers

AgeFile uses Cloudflare for services including website hosting, content delivery, security, DNS and incoming email routing.

Email sent to AgeFile may be forwarded to and stored in a Google Gmail account used to manage correspondence.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy arrangements and may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom.

AgeFile contains links to manufacturers, retailers and other external websites. Those organisations operate their own websites and privacy practices.

When you follow an external link, information collected on the destination website is governed by that organisation’s privacy and cookie notices rather than this page.

How long information is kept

Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.

The retention period may depend on whether correspondence remains active, whether the information is needed to resolve a query, and whether AgeFile must retain a record for legal, accounting, security or regulatory purposes.

Your data-protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

To make a request, email hello@agefile.com . AgeFile may need to confirm your identity before responding.

Complaints

Please contact AgeFile first if you have a concern about how your information has been handled.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office through ico.org.uk .
